My earliest drawings reflected a preoccupation with waterworlds and bug cities. By eight, I began including people in my little sketches starting with faeries, angels, and mermaids of course. Soon, I became fascinated with the powerful graphics of Ancient Egypt and a Native American tribe, the Lenni Lenape, we happened to be studying in third grade. I noticed how even the eyebrows, whispy or defined, could convey ethnicity. Appreciating subtle differences such as these gave me a skillset which later proved so helpful in the expanding Elementary Education market.
